Our Fort Lauderdale DUI defense attorneys read an article about the increasing number of young people who broadcast the location of DUI checkpoints on social networking sites like Twitter and Facebook. While it's not illegal, the practice has some police concerned, because they worry that making information about DUI checkpoints public could cause some drunk drivers to choose an alternate route.

In fact, Mexico City police are so concerned about the trend that they are threatening fines and jail time to people to post the location of DUI checkpoints. But some DUI defense lawyers say that could violate freedom of speech.

Others say the trend doesn't pose a problem, because it raises awareness about the consequences of drunk driving. Plus, checkpoint locations often change after a few hours anyway.

Palm Beach County, Florida - Palm Beach County DUI Lawyer Douglas Leifert has just learned that the city of Palm Beach Gardens has scheduled a sobriety checkpoint for December 11, 2009. The DUI Checkpoint will be conducted by the Palm Beach Gardens Police Department from 11:00 P.M. until 2:00 A.M. in the 3350 block of Northlake Boulevard.

Palm Beach Gardens Police will be prepared to arrest individuals for driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs.

BROWARD COUNTY DUI LAWYER - Sobriety Checkpoints tonight (Friday, November 13, 2009) in Hollywood, Florida and Tamarac, Florida.

The Florida Highway Patrol will conduct a safety (ahem! . . . sobriety) checkpoint tonight in west Hollywood beginning at 4:00 p.m. on Southwest 56th Avenue and Southwest 24th Street.

The Broward County Sheriff's Office will also be conducting a DUI checkpoint in Tamarac, Florida starting at 10:00 p.m. at the 3600 block of West Commercial Blvd.

The BSO DUI Task Force will be present to enforce DUI laws.

OAKLAND PARK, Florida - Police Agencies in Broward County will be conducting a DUI sobriety checkpoint Friday, August 21, 2009 in Oakland Park at 1701 East Oakland Park Boulevard.

The Oakland Park Boulevard corridor in Broward County has been fertile ground for DUI arrests for quite some time. After an evening on Fort Lauderdale beach, many people utilize Oakland Park Boulevard as a means to access I-95. The road is usually heavily patrolled and has a number of speed limit variations that officers utilize in order to justify their traffic stops.

Broward DUI Lawyer, Plantation, Florida - The City of Miramar is planning a DUI checkpoint for July 3rd and July 4th. This Broward DUI checkpoint will begin 8:00 p.m. on Friday July 3rd and will continue until 3:00 a.m. on Saturday, July 4th. Members of the Miramar police department along with other officers from various law enforcement agencies throughout Broward County will be conducting DUI enforcement in the at the 2100 block of State Road Seven.

Fort Lauderdale, FL - Broward County DUI lawyer Brian S. Leifert has just learned that the city of Fort Lauderdale will be conducting a DUI checkpoint scheduled to begin at 4:00 this afternoon and will conclude at 11:00 this evening. The checkpoint will be located in the 1200 block of Northwest Sixth Street (Sistrunk Boulevard) and the 1600 block of Northwest 19th Street. Fort Lauderdale police officers will be looking for impaired or intoxicated drivers ans well as checking for suspended drivers licenses, warrants and equipment violations.

Pembroke Pines, Florida - Broward DUI lawyer Brian S. Leifert has just learned that a DUI checkpoint will be conducted in the city of Pembroke Pines. The DUI checkpoint is planned for Thursday, June 18, 2009 from 9:00 p.m. to 1:00 a.m. on Friday. The checkpoint is planned to take place on Pines Boulevard and 74th Avenue, across from Broward College's South Campus.

Lauderhill, Florida - Broward DUI Lawyer Brian S. Leifert has also learned that a DUI checkpoint will be conducted in the city of Lauderhill. The DUI checkpoint will begin on Saturday, June 20, 2009 at 8:00 p.m. and will concluded at 3:00 a.m on Sunday. The city of Lauderhill has selected Sunrise Boulevard and 441 as the location for the checkpoint.

Both DUI checkpoints will include assistance from law enforcement agencies throughout Broward County, including the Broward County Sheriff's Office and members of Broward Sheriff's Office DUI task force.

Deerfield Beach Criminal Lawyer Brian S. Leifert has just learned that the Broward County Sheriff's Office will be conducting a DUI checkpoint in Deerfield Beach.

The DUI checkpoint will be located along the 1300 block of South Federal Highway in Deerfield Beach and will be in effect from 9:00 p.m. until 3:00 a.m.
